Inquiry into ACT heritage arrangements

Published on March 31, 2023

Advocacy for Inclusion (AFI) has recently made a submission to the Inquiry into ACT Heritage arrangements. In this submission, AFI recommends the incorporation and prioritization of accessibility principles within the future framework governing heritage arrangements across the ACT. It emphasizes the importance of reconciling heritage and accessibility concerns in Canberra and building expertise and excellence in these areas. Additionally, AFI highlights the need for appropriate use of premises where accessibility and heritage values conflict to ensure that people with disabilities are not restricted from accessing community facilities, goods, and services available to the public
