Submission to the Inquiry into the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Getting the NDIS Back on Track No. 1) Bill 2024

Published on June 7, 2024

Advocacy for Inclusion has made a submission to the Federal Inquiry into the NDIS Amendment Bill. In our submission we raise concerns with the proposed new assessment regime to determine plan budgets pointing out that point in time assessments risk providing an inaccurate picture of the support needs of some groups of people with disability and also represent an unwarranted .  We also speak to possible unintended consequences from the exclusion of some support types.  We also note concerns that, while the extension of plan periods is welcomed, the proposed 5 year plan period is too long and risks peoples plans degrading while their circumstances change.

It is on the Committees website (no 131) where you can also read other public submissions. Submissions – Parliament of Australia (aph.gov.au)
